Justin Amaluzor Signs for the Mariners

Grimsby Town Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of dynamic wide forward Justin Amaluzor, who joins from Altrincham on a two-year deal.

The 28-year-old makes the move to Blundell Park on a free transfer, having made 76 appearances and scored 13 goals for the National League side since joining them in the summer of 2023.

Primarily a right-winger, Amaluzor began his career in the youth ranks at Barnet, earning his first professional contract in 2015 and making his EFL debut on his 18th birthday.

After leaving Barnet in 2018, Amaluzor had a short stint with Braintree Town before joining Maidstone United, where he continued to develop his game. He later tested himself north of the border with a move to the Scottish Premiership, signing for Motherwell.

Returning to England, Amaluzor featured for Aldershot Town during the 2022/23 campaign before his switch to Altrincham. His 2023/24 season proved particularly impressive, as he played a key role in Altrincham’s fourth-place finish, narrowly missing out on promotion after a Play-Off semi-final defeat to eventual winners, Bromley.

Head Coach David Artell said, “Justin comes off the back of an excellent season at Altrincham and we feel he has a really high ceiling to continue his growth.

He’s young, hungry and adds something completely different to the current squad. We are all looking forward to working with him!”

Now, after nearly a decade away, Amaluzor returns to Sky Bet League Two, becoming Head Coach, David Artell’s first signing of the summer transfer window.

Welcome to the Mariners, Justin!
