Loan Report | Essel and Braithwaite help sides to victory

Two young Mariners made temporary loan switches ahead of the weekend’s action and here’s how they got on…

Teenage striker Edwin Essel made his first start for Guiseley after joining them on Friday and played 47 minutes as the Northern Premier League side picked up three points with a 2-1 victory over Basford United.

Guiseley’s next match sees them face Gainsborough Trinity tomorrow night.

Aaron Braithwaite also made his first appearance of the season after his temporary switch to Stafford Rangers was confirmed on Saturday. He started their 3-2 victory over FC United of Manchester before being withdrawn in the dying moments. The teenager will be with the Northern Premier League side until January and he could next be in action tomorrow against Basford United.

Well done to both of our youngsters who helped their teams to three points on Saturday – best of luck tomorrow night, lads!
