PREMIER League official Bobby Madley will be in charge of Saturday’s crunch clash with Chesterfield at Blundell Park on Saturday afternoon.
Madley became an EFL official in 2010 but took charge of his first Premier League game in April 2013, with West Bromwich Albion beating Southampton 3-0 and three players being sent off in the process, meaning it was an eventful start to the top division for the referee.
Saturday will be the first time he has officiated an EFL fixture this season, with him taking charge of around 20 Premier League games so far this campaign.
He has handed out 90 yellow cards and five reds in 26 games overall this campaign, with the last fixture being Manchester United’s 2-0 victory over Swansea City at Old Trafford.
The referee will be assisted by Marc Perry, Michael McDonough and fourth official John Brooks for the fixture.
