Following the draw for the second round of the Carabao Cup, we are looking forward to hosting Premier League Manchester United at Blundell Park on Wednesday 27th August, kick-off 8pm.
This will be our first meeting with the Red Devils since 1948 back in the old first division and a whole generation of supporters will be looking forward to seeing Town play Manchester United for the first time. We’re sure it will prove to be another memorable occasion under the lights at Blundell Park.
It has now been confirmed that the fixture will be broadcast live on both ITV and Sky Sports Football.
There will be a £3 increase on the price of a standard matchday ticket in all categories for this fixture but to celebrate this special occasion all supporters will receive a complimentary commemorative edition of The Mariner as they enter the ground.

Due to the huge levels of interest this tie has already generated, hospitality and mascot packages won’t be going on public sale and will instead be managed by our commercial team.
Manchester United fans will receive their contractual allocation in the Osmond Stand.
Tickets will go on sale to Season Ticket holders on a one-for-one basis on Saturday after the final whistle of our game against Newport County in the Ticket Office until 6pm, primarily for those supporters who live out of town and have attended the game.
The Lower Bar will be open after the game for supporters who would like a drink and wait for the queue to go down. Online sales for Season Ticket holders will commence from 6pm on a strict one-for-one basis.
The Ticket Office will also be open from 10am until 4pm on Sunday for ticket sales to current Season Ticket holders, also on a one-for-one basis only. Please note that all Season Ticket holders’ seats will be held until midnight on Tuesday 19th August.
Tickets will then go on sale to 1878 Club members from 9am online and 10am in-store on Thursday 21st August. If tickets remain, they will be made available to those who attended the Shrewsbury Town Round One Carabao Cup game on Friday 22nd August for 24 hours and to Mariners Trust members from Saturday 23rd August before going on general sale.
Please note that sale of new 1878 Club memberships will be unavailable for the time being. However, Season Tickets for the 2025-26 campaign are still available and we’re pleased that over 200 have been sold to GTFC account holders since the draw. For any new Season Ticket holders who have purchased online or over the phone, they will be required to bring a form of identification with D.O.B. upon collection.
With a little less than two weeks to go, we’re looking forward to seeing a jam-packed Blundell Park and another memorable occasion for the club.
