Town are calling on the whole Mariners family to come together and support two local organisations helping people in need in our community when Fleetwood Town visit Blundell Park on Saturday 29th August.
The club and Grimsby Town Foundation are partnering with We Are One and The Rock Foundation for a special matchday food bank initiative, with supporters encouraged to donate food, essential items or money to help the charities meet demand.
Summer is one of the most difficult periods for people who rely on food banks, while it can also be a time when donations are at their lowest.
The campaign aims to help bridge that gap and ensure We Are One and The Rock Foundation have the resources they need to continue supporting people across the local community.
How can you help?
There are several ways Mariners supporters can get involved.
Cash and card collections will take place around the ground on matchday, with buckets available for cash donations and card readers available for those wishing to make a donation electronically.
Supporters can also donate food throughout the week, with collection baskets available in the Club Shop and Ticket Office from Monday to Friday.
On Saturday, supporters can bring food donations with them to Blundell Park, with a dedicated collection kiosk located in the car park at the Ramsdens Family Stand.
Every donation, whether food or money, will help We Are One and the Rock Foundation support people in our local community.
What can I donate?
The food banks have highlighted the following items as particularly useful:
- Bottled drinks, particularly water
- Crisps
- Cereal bars
- Cakes and biscuits
- Tinned meat
- Tinned sandwich spreads
- Beans
- Spaghetti hoops
- Soup, including packet soup
- Pot Noodles
- Super Noodles
- Jam
- Toiletries such as shower gel, shampoo and soap
Anything within reason is welcome, while financial donations are also hugely appreciated.
Meet the charities
Representatives from both We Are One and The Rock Foundation will be at Blundell Park on matchday, with a dedicated information table located in the space between the Pontoon and Ramsden’s stands.
The tables will provide supporters with information about the work carried out by both organisations, how they can donate and where people who need support can find help.
The charities provide more than food bank services, with information available about other forms of support, including advice around benefits and debt.
If you or someone you know is struggling, the matchday tables will also provide an opportunity to find out more about the support available and how to access it.
All Town Aren’t We
The campaign will see players, staff, volunteers, sponsors and supporters come together to help people across our local community.
Our players will also visit the food banks during the build-up to the fixture, helping with behind-the-scenes activities and supporting the work carried out by the organisations.
On matchday, volunteers from both charities will also be joining us at Blundell Park, alongside Grimsby Town Foundation staff. A number of volunteers and people identified by the charities who may benefit from their support will be welcomed to the game as guests in the Osmond Stand.

The Fleetwood Town fixture is about more than what happens on the pitch.
It is an opportunity for the whole community to come together and support people in our area at a time when demand for food bank services is high and donations can be harder to come by.
