Welcome back to Blundell Park as we prepare to welcome York City for a lunchtime Sky Bet League Two clash at the home of the Mariners.

David Artell’s side will be looking to make home advantage count as they take on the Minstermen in another important fixture, with both sides having plenty to play for as the league campaign continues.

With a big afternoon of football ahead and plenty to look forward to around the ground, we’ve pulled together all the key information you’ll need ahead of kick-off, including stadium access, turnstile opening times, ticket details, food and drink outlets, entertainment, travel and parking, and everything else supporters need to know before arriving.

We encourage all supporters to arrive in plenty of time to avoid queues and make the most of everything on offer around the ground.

Ahead of kick-off, David Artell shared his thoughts on the challenge posed by York City, Town’s preparations and what he expects from Saturday’s lunchtime encounter:

Opening Times

9am: Ticket Office & Club Shop opens

11am: The Lower Bar & Fan Zone open to supporters

11am: Turnstiles open

Town to Mark Remembrance Matchday

Saturday’s fixture against York City at Blundell Park will be our Remembrance Matchday. As we mark our home fixture closest to Remembrance Day, we will come together to honour the service and sacrifice of members of the Armed Forces community, past and present.

Ahead of kick-off, the head coaches of both clubs will lay wreaths on the pitch before supporters, players and staff observe a two-minute silence, which will begin and end on the referee’s whistle.

The Last Post will be played by a bugler as we pay our respects to those who have served and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Nine service personnel will be pitchside for the ceremony, including five veterans and four serving personnel representing all three branches of the Armed Forces. Eight of the group are from NEL4Heroes, a peer-to-peer support network dedicated to supporting veterans and serving members of the Armed Forces.

Players and coaches will wear black armbands as a mark of respect, while our matchday programme will feature special Remembrance content. Poppies will also be available to purchase from the Club Shop.

We encourage supporters to take their seats earlier than usual to ensure they are ready to observe the Remembrance ceremony ahead of kick-off.

Fan Zone Reopens for York City Fixture

We are looking forward to welcoming supporters back to the Fan Zone on Saturday as the Mariners take on York City at Blundell Park.

Following a short period of closure, whilst ownership of the bar facilities transferred to the Club, we have taken the opportunity to make some improvements to the Fan Zone which has become an important part of many supporters’ matchday experience since 2021.

Both bar hatches will be in operation for the weekend, helping us serve supporters quickly and efficiently on matchdays.

A widescreen LED TV has been fitted to the base of the floodlight pylon, which will show Sky Sports in the build-up to each fixture, allowing supporters to catch the latest football action ahead of kick-off.

Paul Cook, of Cooky Cooks, will be provide DJ entertainment in the build up to the game and also at half-time.

Food vendor Station Café will also be back, serving up their popular chicken and chips dishes, and a face painter will also be on hand for younger fans.

We plan to make further improvements throughout the season and welcome supporters to share their feedback and suggestions with slo@gtfc.co.uk or the Mariners Trust.

Tickets are close to being sold out for this fixture, with very limited seats still available in the Technical Absorbents Stand. Supporters can purchase online or from the Ticket Office, which will be open until kick-off.
