Jordan Cook is expected to miss out once again with a groin injury. Harry Cardwell is also a doubt having picked up a slight hamstring strain.
Elliott Hewitt will be missing for the trip to Cumbria, having picked up his fifth booking of the season during last weekend’s defeat to Swindon.
Following his return from injury against Swindon last week, Luke Hendrie could be set for a start at Brunton Park.

Man in the Middle:
Marc Edwards will be the man with the whistle at Carlisle United on Saturday.
In what is Edwards’ first season on the EFL list of referees, the Tyne and Wear-based official will take charge of a Town game for the very first time following his promotion to the National List of Referees in the summer.
Mr Edwards has experience in the EFL prior to this season though, first starting as an assistant referee before opting to drop back down to the National League with the whistle, where he remained for two years before being promoted back.
Key Men for The Robins – Harry McKirdy is the man to watch with six goals and five assists to his name for United, and the Mariners will also need to keep an eye on frontman Olufela Olomola who has banged in five goals so far this season.
The Managers
Anthony Limbrick
“Carlisle have got some good players and they’re near us in the table so it’s a big game for both sides.
“To be able to play a team which is around us is hopefully a good thing, and we’ll try and prey on that fact and hopefully it works out for us.
“But you can’t guarantee that it will be an easier game because it certainly won’t be – we’re away from home, their pitch is big, and they’ve just had a good win midweek against Forest Green Rovers in the FA Cup.”
Chris Beech
Speaking on carlisleunited.co.uk, he said: “We know full well the threats that Grimsby can bring because they have some very good players in that dressing room.
“They’ll be really disappointed with the run they’ve been on and I’m sure they’ll see every game as an opportunity to start to get their season going again.
“We have to be aware of that, but we have to go into the game with the determination to deal with what they’ll do at the same time as we look to dominate the possession and take the game to them.”
