Match Preview & Information: Barrow (A)

David Artell previews our trip to Barrow

Preview

Next up for David Artell’s men is a meeting with Barrow, who currently sit 18th in the Sky Bet League Two table, ten points behind the Mariners.

This is the Bluebirds’ fifth consecutive season in League Two, after earning promotion when Covid struck during the 2019-20 campaign, with Barrow returning to the Football League as National League champions for the first time since 1972.

Over the 25 games they have played this season, the Cumbrian outfit have picked up 28 points, winning and drawing seven games and losing 11 and will be hungry to pick up their first three points since 21st December in a 2-0 win at home to Fleetwood.

Barrow brought in Andy Whing as their new manager just four days ago who will be taking charge of his first game for the Bluebirds against the Mariners on Saturday. Whing previously managed Solihull Moors in the National League and before that, Banbury United.

A key player for the Bluebirds will be wing-back Ben Jackson. The 23-year-old, who joined the club in July last year, has six assists to his name and can operate anywhere down the left-hand side. He’s played every minute of every league outing this season and will be an attacking threat in Saturday’s tie.
