NEW ROLE FOR KRISTINE

Kristine Green is to step down from her position on the Grimsby Town FC board at the end of the 2024-25 season and will take up a new role within the Grimsby Town Foundation.

One of our fan representatives on the Mariners board since 2021, Kristine has led on many fan-focused initiatives such as the one which saw over £45,000 raised by our fans to subsidise the cost of National League Promotional Final tickets in 2022.

Kristine, who was awarded the BEM for services to Association Football in North East Lincolnshire two years ago, will continue as the Club’s Supporter Liaison Officer (SLO) and starts her new full-time position within the Grimsby Town Foundation as Community Projects Manager.

Speaking of her decision to step away from her position on the Mariners board, she said, “When asked to become the first female board member in the 143-year history of the Club I love, I accepted without hesitation.”

“It’s been a period of time that has brought so much joy and plenty of reflection for myself. Being given access to the workings of a football club at all levels and connections across the industry is something that hasn’t been wasted on me.

“On a personal level, both my children are much older and it’s time for me return to full time work. I give everything I have to the voluntary work I undertake, and I couldn’t do both justice, so it’s time for me step down from the Club board at the end of the 24-25 season. One which we all hope will be incredibly successful.”

On her new role within the Grimsby Town Foundation, the Club’s charitable arm which is dedicated to delivering sport participation, education, sports inclusion and community-focused initiatives across North East Lincolnshire, she added, “I’m delighted to have been appointed Community Project Manager within the Foundation. A large part of the role will be out and about within the town, building relationships and looking at possible joint working initiatives. I’m looking forward to developing the role in the coming months.”

The Club’s Chair Andrew Pettit also shared his feelings about Kristine’s decision to step down from the board and support of her new role within the Foundation.

“On behalf of Jason, myself and the rest of the board, I would like to thank Kristine for her service on the Grimsby Town board over the last 3 years.  She has been a constant voice on behalf of the fans and has contributed to the progress we have been making off the pitch to improve the fans experience.

“Fortunately for the Club, her talents will not be lost to us as she will continue on the board until the end of the season and remain as our SLO as well as taking a full-time job in the Grimsby Town Foundation where I am sure she will continue to make a difference both within the Club and the wider community.

“As someone who likes to see “aces in places”, I am personally delighted she will continue working with the Foundation as we seek to amplify its impact over the next few years.”

We would like to thank Kristine for everything she has done for the Club over the years and will continue to do in her new role.
