New Youth Team scholars sign for 2025-26 season

Ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, the Youth Team are delighted to welcome the new cohort of First Year scholars to Grimsby Town Football Club.

Professional Development Phase Coach, Callum Lester, provides an overview of those who will be taking the next step of their promising careers with us.

Lennon Peterson

Lennon joined the Club as an under 13 and has already featured in the Youth Team in the 2024-25 campaign. A powerful midfielder and physical presence, Lennon can also play anywhere on the left. Lennon is a local lad, residing in Cleethorpes and is a player who has progressed through our own academy and put in some strong performances in the 24-25 campaign.

George Smith

Also joining the Club as an under 13, George previously played for Doncaster Rovers. George is a technical midfielder who can also play out wide and is a committed player who has progressed well during his last four years with the Club. George lives in Rotherham but will relocate to the area for the start of the 25-26 season.

Kristian Catchpole

Kristian joined the Club as an under 15 and was previously at Scunthorpe United, but the Mariners swooped for his signature when their programme closed and fought off many competitors. Kris is a technical midfielder and known for his outstanding goals and assists. Kris lives in Hull but will move to the area at the start of his apprenticeship.

Ted Sharp

Ted hails from North Yorkshire and joins the Club from Harrogate Town. A tall centre- forward, Ted can be a presence aerially, but equally as effective on the ground with good mobility. Ted has played and scored for the Youth Team on several occasions already this season.

Charlie Elliot

Charlie grew up in Wakefield and was previously at Barnsley Football Club. The tall centre-back is a strong defender with a good range of technical skills. Charlie is another player who has already started games for the Youth Team in the most recent campaign and has gained valuable experience he can take forward on his journey.

Josh Edwards

Josh joins the Club from Stoke City. A powerful right-back who has come in and hit the ground running and started many Youth Team games, Josh is a strong defender who is equally effective going forward. The Cheshire native is a tough tackler, and we welcome him to the club for the 25-26 season.

Harvey Booth

Harvey hails from Skegness and is another player who has come through our academy system, joining the club as an under 15. The pacy attacker has scored a number of goals this past term from wide and central positions and will be looking to cement a starting place in the Youth Team, which he has already done on several occasions last season.

Tyler Pratt

Finally, Tyler joins us from Peterborough United. Tyler is an attacking left-sided player who is equally comfortable on the wing or at full-back. A technically sound player, who is aggressive defensively, Tyler will relocate to Grimsby from his hometown of Peterborough.
