Notts County Ticket Issue Explained

After a number of supporters encountered issues attempting to buy tickets for the Play-Off Eliminator fixture against Notts County this morning, we wanted to provide you with an explanation of what happened and how we will try to avoid it happening again in the future.

At 10am, the level of traffic our online ticket portal experienced, along with over 800 fans queuing to be served at the ticket office, overwhelmed our ticketing system and that led to the temporary suspension of online sales. The ticketing system had not been tested in this way before and we expected it to cope with the demands.

We can only apologise for the inconvenience this caused to online purchasers and also the fans who queued outside Blundell Park for a considerable time.

For future high-profile games, where demand undoubtedly outweighs supply, we may look at staggering the release of online and physical over-the-counter sales to avoid this scenario happening again.

Once again, we’d like to extend our apologies to anyone who was inconvenienced this morning. Thank you for your continued support.
