Notts County – Updated Travel Guide

Making the journey to Notts County this evening? Kristine Green has provided the following updated travel guide to help make your trip run as smooth as possible.

What colour kit will the team be wearing?

We’ll be in Blue, the same kit worn for our league game earlier in the season.

What’s the ticket information?

All available tickets for Town fans have been purchased. No additional tickets will be made available.

What stand are we in?

We are in the Jimmy Sirrel Stand, which is a large stand that runs the length of the pitch.

It is an all-seater, allocated seat stand.

What time will turnstiles open?

Turnstiles open at 6.30pm

How do I get to the ground?

Leave the M1 at junction 26, then onto the A610 towards Nottingham and then Melton Mowbray. Turn left before the river onto Meadow Lane.

Alternatively, it’s straight down the A46 and onto the A52 towards Nottingham.  As Radcliffe Road forks off to the left towards Trent Bridge Cricket ground, you need to bear right onto Lady Bay Bridge and follow the road over the river. At the next set of lights turn left onto Meadow Lane and the ground in on the right.

Where is the best place to park?

The Cattle Market Car Park (NG2 3BL) is the nearest car park to the ground but can be difficult to get out of after the game.

Alternatively, you have the Victoria Embankment Car Park (NG2 2EH) or Nottingham Train Station multi-story Car Park.  There are other pay and display Car Parks within the city centre too.

There is some street parking away from the ground but check signage before parking up.

There is also a park and ride facility – Off the M1 at junction 26 and head to Phoenix Park + Ride (NG8 6AS). The tram will have you to the town centre within 20 minutes. More info can be found here.

What’s disabled parking like?

There are limited assessable parking spaces at the ground that need to be booked through Alice on 0115 955 7241.

There are some on-street disabled bays around the ground that must be paid for through the ringo app – there are signs on lampposts with instructions.

What is the nearest train station to the stadium and what is the approximate distance and walking time?

Nottingham Train Station is only a 10-minute walk away from the ground on the same side of the River Trent.  However, if you’re travelling from Grimsby there is no train back (the last one leaves at 20:36).

Recommended pubs for away fans?

Hooters on London Road is popular pre-match for fans but they seem to be running a booking only system.

The Boot Room on Pavillion Road (opposite side of the river to Meadow Lane) is welcoming Town fans and has a capacity of around 200.

Fellows Morton + Clayton on Canal Street (also a capacity of 200) are welcoming away fans too.

Should this be full, other pubs/bars canal-side may welcome fans.

Food available in the area?

Around the ground, there are plenty of local and national chain places to eat as it is so close to the City Centre.

Where is the nearest cash machine to the Stadium?

There is a cash machine at the Jet petrol station but it does charge. Otherwise there are plenty of them in the City Centre.

What food and drink is available at the stadium?

Inside the ground has a couple of catering outlets serving burgers, pies and vegetarian options. As well as sweets, crisps, hot and cold drinks as well as alcohol.

Cash and card is accepted.

Is a programme available?

Yes, a printed programme is available at a cost of £3.  It’s available around the ground and from the home Club Shop.

What’s the policy on flags?

Flags are permissible – They should be placed on front row seats only.

Post-match road closure

  • With a large crowd expected and to ensure the controlled dispersal of supporters, Cattle Market Road and County Road will be closed from full-time until deemed safe to reopen
  • Parking will not be suspended on Iremonger Road, however, no vehicles will be able to exit any car parks on that road from 9.25pm (or later subject to extra time and penalties) until deemed safe
  • Exit from the Cattle Market area onto Cattle Market Road and County Road will also be prevented
  • Exit on to Meadow Lane from the Cattle Market area will be unaffected
