Pardington Departs

We can confirm that Jamie Pardington has left Grimsby Town Football Club following the mutual termination of his short-term deal.

The 6-foot-5-inch goalkeeper joined the Mariners at the end of September after his release from Wolverhampton Wanderers where he’d spent the previous three seasons. The 22-year-old was signed to provide cover for Max Crocombe and leaves Blundell Park without making a competitive appearance for the club.

Speaking of Pardington’s departure, Paul Hurst said: “Jamie has done well in training, but he was finding it difficult not getting an opportunity given how well Max has been playing. But ultimately an opportunity has come up for him elsewhere, so I didn’t want to stand in his way.

“As a result, we have called Ollie Battersby back from his loan spell at Ilkeston Town and we will assess the goalkeeping situation as we progress through January.”

We would like to thank Jamie for his service and wish him well in his next chapter.
