Pick Up The Mariner For Free!

We have decided to print 6,000 copies of our matchday programme, The Mariner, for Saturday’s game against Northampton Town and give them out free of charge to all home supporters.

As season ticket holders will be aware, they are entitled to a complimentary copy of the programme with the token found on the discount voucher sheets given to all 2022/23 season ticket holders. And with an incredible 5735 season tickets sold for our first campaign back in Sky Bet League 2, we thought we’d make The Mariner complimentary to all home fans and distribute it to supporters at the turnstiles on their way into the ground.

Grimsby Town Football Club has produced a matchday programme for over 100 years and we are committed to making sure supporters have a printed programme to enjoy for years to come. Over the years, the publication has been recognised as one of the best in English football and it is something we can be very proud of. To many, it’s an intrinsic part of the matchday experience.

To help promote it, so that more people will consider buying The Mariner throughout the season, we want fans to see what’s in this season’s 64-page publication. In addition to exclusive columns by Paul Hurst, Jason Stockwood and Debbie Cook, there’s an in-depth interview with skipper Luke Waterfall, updates on our Youth and Women’s teams and lots of nostalgic content that will appeal to anyone who likes to read about the rich history of our football club. Also, brand new this season, there will be a big, pull-out poster included in every edition starting with captain, Luke Waterfall.

The Mariner is usually priced £3 per edition (apart from Cup games) but the best way to support the programme is to subscribe to it for the season. For just £50 you can guarantee a copy of every edition throughout the campaign – that works out as roughly 1/3 less than purchasing on a game-by-game basis. Plus, by subscribing, you will be helping to keep the printed version of The Mariner alive! If you’d like to purchase a subscription to the programme, click here.

Please note that Saturday’s programme will be distributed to home supporters at the turnstiles – not from the usual sales points around the ground. There will only be 6,000 copies available and once they are gone, they are gone. Subscribers to The Mariner will receive their copy as usual.

Thank you for your magnificent support and we can’t wait to see you all on Saturday!
