PREVIEW | HARROGATE TOWN (A)

The Mariners make the trip to North Yorkshire to face Harrogate Town at the EnviroVent Stadium tomorrow night (kick-off 7:45pm) looking to make it back-to-back wins.

Town hosted Newport County at Blundell Park on Saturday afternoon where a Danny Rose first half goal was enough to see out all three points for the Mariners in front of the BP crowd. That win putting Town five points clear of the bottom two with five games remaining.

Harrogate Town

These two sides last met in late December when Harrogate left Blundell Park with all three points following a narrow 2-1 win. The North Yorkshire side found themselves two goals to the good following a first half goal from Foulds and a second half goal from Odoh. The Mariners did pull one back with minutes to spare through Kieran Green, but this proved to be nothing more than a consolation.

Harrogate are currently managed by Simon Weaver who is the longest serving manager in the division having been in charge at the EnviroVent Stadium since 2009 and has guided the club from the National League North to Sky Bet League Two in the process.

The Sulphurites come into this game on a mixed run of form having won two out of their last five league outings, including two draws and one defeat. That defeat coming in Town’s last game away to Notts County where County were able to claim a 3-0 victory over Weaver’s side.

Harrogate have seen their season struggles come at the EnviroVent Stadium after only picking up 26 points from 20 games on their own turf, that putting them 20th in the League Two home form table.

George Thompson is Harrogate’s current top scorer having scored 13 goals for Town this season as well as registering 7 assists in the process which also places him as the clubs second highest assister in all competitions.
