Grimsby Town Football Club was very sad to learn of the recent passing of former Mariner, Ray De Gruchy.

Ray signed for Town under Billy Walsh and helped the Mariners to the Division Three North title in 1956.

Ray signed for the Club in 1954 and scored on his debut in a 3-0 win away at Rochdale, going on to make 78 appearances in all competitions in black and white.

The winger turned left-back was popular with Grimsby fans for his long runs to support the attack.

Our thoughts are with Ray’s family and friends at this difficult time.
