Sam Purkiss will be the man with the whistle at Oldham on Saturday.

The London-based official will take charge of the two sides for the very first time competitively following his promotion to the National List of Referees after two campaigns on the National League.

Saturday’s match will be his fifth EFL fixture having taken charge of just four previously. He has shown 14 Yellow Cards in those five games and no Red Cards as yet.

Mr Purkiss will be assisted at Boundary Park by David Avent and Steven Rushton. The Fourth Official will be Helen Byrne.
