Remembering Daphne Farquharson

Grimsby Town Football Club is saddened to learn of the passing of Daphne Farquharson.

Daphne’s late husband founded the Grimsby Town Disabled Supporters Travel Club almost 40 years ago, organising everything from dedicated and specialised travel to away games to Christmas parties for its members. Daphne was incredibly dedicated to the position, volunteering countless hours to ensure the members enjoyed their experiences whilst supporting their beloved Mariners.

In 2020, Daphne reluctantly took a step back from the management of the Travel Club but could regularly be seen at Grimsby Town matches in the Family Lounge enjoying her favourite tipple of brandy and lemonade!

The thoughts of everybody associated with Grimsby Town Football Club are with Daphne’s friends and family at this sad time. As a mark of respect, we will be observing a minute’s applause prior to kick-off ahead of our next home fixture vs. Crewe Alexandra on Saturday 10th September.
