Richardson recalled by Burnley

We can confirm that striker Lewis Richardson has been recalled from his loan spell with the Mariners by parent club Burnley.

The 19-year-old joined Town on Deadline Day last summer and made fifteen appearances for the Club, scoring two goals including the winner in our Emirates FA Cup Third Round triumph over Burton Albion.

On Richardson’s departure, manager Paul Hurst said: “We thank Lewis for his contribution to our season. Obviously the last one that he had set us up for this FA Cup game at Luton and I think that he showed, at times, what a good player he is.

“I think he could have a big future in the game so we thank Burnley for allowing him to come to us for the first half of the season and I’ll certainly be watching his career with interest.”

We would like to wish Lewis well for the future and thank him for his efforts while with us at Blundell Park.
