Rochdale Travel Guide

Making the journey to Rochdale this weekend? Fan Elected Director & Supporter Liaison Officer Kristine Green has provided the following article to help make your journey run as smooth as possible.

What colour kit will the team be wearing?

The pink kit will have its first run out for this game.

What’s the ticket information?

It is allocated seating for this game.  Tickets are available from the ticket office until Friday 3PM. A cash turnstile will be in operation on Saturday from 1pm via a cash cabin, located next to their Football in the Community office. Card payments will be accepted from the Rochdale ticket office on the day. There will be NO cash payments accepted on the turnstile.

How do I get to the ground?

Postcode for sat navs is OL11 5DR

Take junction 20 of the M62 and onto the A627(M) towards Rochdale. At the lights keep left towards Rochdale Town Centre. At the next set head straight across towards Blackburn. Remain on Roch Valley Way until the next set of lights, keeping to the left hand lane. At the next lights keep straight ahead (The Cemetery pub will be on the right).  Stay on this road and the stadium is on the right hand side.

What stand are we in?

Town fans are located in the Willbutts Lane end – this is a covered side stand.

When do turnstiles open?

Turnstiles open an hour before kick-off. Entry is via turnstile 11 to 14

Where is the best place to park?

There is no parking available at the ground so it’s street parking only. Be mindful of any restrictions to avoid tickets as the area is monitored by traffic control.

Ings Lane (OL12 7BA) and Hudsons Walk are a good area to start.

Is there any disabled parking?

Disabled parking at the ground is now fully booked for this fixture. So street parking using a blue badge is the closest option to the ground.

What is the nearest train station to the stadium and what is the approximate distance and walking time?

Rochdale station is 2.5 miles (40 minute walk away) so bear this in mind if arriving by train. There is a taxi rank outside the stadium.

Recommended pubs for away fans?

Fans are welcome to use the Rochdale fanzone located in the Ratcliffe Bar at the ground. Entry is via Sandy Lane. This opens at 11am and has BT Sport for the 12.30 game (Villa v Everton).

Alternatively you have the The Regal Moon Wetherspoons, in Rochdale Town Centre – a large pub that serves food and has a nice terrace area to use. You’ve got a 25 minute walk from here to the ground, although there is a taxi rank outside.

The Cask + Feather on Oldham Road OL16 1UA, will also welcome away fans. Again this is a 30 minute walk/10 minute drive to bear that in mind.

The Cemetery Hotel on Bury Road (OL11 5EU) is another option. It’s a 15 minute walk down the road from the ground.

Food available in the area?

There is a chippy at the ground with good reviews but this is likely to be busy.  Other than that there is plenty of choice in the town centre, including the Wetherspoons already mentioned above.

Where is the nearest cash machine to the Stadium?

Nearest cash machine to the ground is at the Co-op on Edenfield Road. That’s around a 20 minute walk away.

What food and drink is available on the concourse at the stadium?

Hot food such as burgers, hot dogs and pies as well as cold food and drink is available in the ground as is alcohol.

Both cash and card will be accepted.

Is a programme available?

A printed programme is available costing £3.00

What is the flag policy?

Any flag larger than 7ft x 3ft will require a fire safety certificate. Stewards will show you where to place flags.  No flags on poles.

Other information

In the 68th minute a 1 minute applause will be held by Rochdale fans in memory of one of their own ‘Moggy’ who passed away recently.
