We are delighted to announce that Harvey Rodgers has signed a new contract with the Club, keeping him at Blundell Park until the summer of 2028, with an option to extend the deal by a further year.
Since arriving from Accrington Stanley in June 2023, Rodgers has become a key figure at the heart of the Mariners’ defence, combining consistency, versatility and leadership across the back line.
Playing at right-back and across the defensive unit, Rodgers has been ever-present throughout the current campaign, starting all 37 league matches and playing over 3,000 minutes. His reliability has been matched by his defensive quality, contributing over 200 clearances, strong aerial dominance and an ability to step in with important contributions at both ends of the pitch.
Having come through the academy at Hull City before spells with Fleetwood Town and Accrington, the 29-year-old has brought valuable EFL experience to the Mariners, quickly establishing himself as a cornerstone of the side.
Across the 2025/26 League Two campaign, Rodgers has also chipped in with two goals and an assist, while helping Town maintain a strong defensive record and push towards the play-off places.
Head coach David Artell said:
“Obviously we’re delighted to keep the best right back in League Two. He’s had a phenomenal season, his game is constantly improving, he’s not just a really accomplished defender in our own box – he’s becoming an even greater threat in the opposition box.
He’s created several big chances this year, his expected assists are extremely high too for a full back. It’s only a matter of time before his numbers reflect that. He’s been terrific all season, and he thoroughly deserves his new contract. We’re delighted that he’s extended his stay with us.”
On signing his new deal, Rodgers added:
“I’m really pleased to get it done. I’ve loved my time here so far and it feels like the right place for me to continue my career.
“There’s a great group here and a real togetherness around the Club. You can feel that we’re building something positive, and I’m excited to be a part of that.
“I just want to keep working hard, keep improving and help the team be as successful as possible over the next few years.”
