Salford Team News

Town boss Paul Hurst has a few injury concerns ahead of the Good Friday clash at Salford City (3pm).

Sam Habergham could set to be back into contention after coming through two training sessions this week.

Speaking on iFollow Mariners, Paul Hurst told us: “Sam did a bit on Monday and then trained today. “He’s certainly back in contention.

“He’d gone through a lighter training programme before we put him back in, and then he got his injury in the second game of that, so we’re always a little bit cautious on Sam.”

And Jay Matete is a major doubt for that trip to Salford.

The 20-year-old was forced off with a hip injury during the first half of Saturday’s 1-1 draw at home to Walsall.

Speaking about Matete, the Town boss said: “We’re concerned about him to be honest.

Meanwhile, Filipe Morais is back in training following a hamstring injury, although Hurst has admitted Friday will likely come too soon for the former Oldham man.

Jake Eastwood, meanwhile, remains out injured, with no change to his potential return date.

Hurst has also revealed he has a few more injury concerns ahead of Friday’s game, but hasn’t revealed any names before the trip to Salford.
