Sellars-Fleming Joins the Mariners on Loan Until the End of the Season

We are delighted to announce the signing of forward Tyrell Sellars-Fleming, who joins the Mariners on loan for the remainder of the season.

Sellars-Fleming arrives at Blundell Park from EFL Championship side Hull City, linking up with David Artell’s squad as he looks to gain further valuable senior experience, having spent the first half of the season on loan at Scunthorpe United.

A product of the Iron’s youth academy, Tyrell made his first steps in senior football with them before securing a move to Hull City in August 2023. Since arriving at the MKM Stadium, the highly rated forward has been a regular presence around the Tigers’ first-team setup, making nine senior appearances across the last two seasons.

The 20-year-old’s goal record at youth level has been particularly impressive, finishing as Hull City’s Under-21s top scorer in back-to-back seasons with 27 goals across all competitions. His development was further recognised in November 2024, when he put pen to paper on a new long-term contract with the Championship club.

Sellars-Fleming has also gained experience in men’s football through a number of loan spells, including with National League side Gateshead during the second half of the 2024-25 campaign. While with the Heed, he made 15 appearances and registered five goal contributions as the club narrowly missed out on a play-off place.

Tyrell is also a familiar name to Mariners supporters, as the son of former Town midfielder Terry Fleming, who represented the Club during the 2004/05 season.

The forward will now spend the remainder of the season with the Mariners, adding further attacking options as Town head into the latter stages of the campaign.

“Tyrell is a player we’ve been aware of for some time and one who fits the profile we were looking for,” said Head Coach David Artell. “He’s quick, hungry and has a natural instinct in and around the box, which is reflected in his goal record at youth level and the experience he’s already gained in senior football.

“He’s had exposure to first-team environments at a good level and benefited from his time out on loan, so this move is about giving him the opportunity to continue that development with us. We’re looking forward to working with him for the remainder of the season and adding another attacking option to the group.”

Everyone at Grimsby Town would like to welcome Tyrell to Blundell Park and wish him every success during his time with the Club.
