We are delighted to announce that Super Clive Mendonca will return to Blundell Park on Saturday 29th August 2026, with Nor-Lait Promotions hosting a special evening with one of the Mariners’ most beloved modern-day legends.
A genuine Grimsby Town cult hero of the 1990s, Mendonca remains one of the most celebrated strikers in the Club’s history and his return home promises to be a fantastic evening of stories, memories and nostalgia.
Mendonca scored 60 goals in 166 appearances for the Mariners between 1992 and 1997, earning legendary status with his pace, composure and clinical finishing before moving on to Charlton Athletic.
His time at the Club coincided with one of the most memorable periods in Grimsby Town’s modern history, with Mendonca becoming a firm favourite among the Blundell Park faithful.
The striker would go on to enjoy further success with Charlton, famously scoring a hat-trick in the 1998 Division One Play-Off Final against Sunderland before converting his penalty in the subsequent shootout to help the Addicks secure promotion to the Premier League.
Now, supporters will have the opportunity to hear from “Super Clive” himself as he returns to his former home for an evening packed with stories from his playing career, memories of his time in black and white and reflections on his remarkable journey in the game.
Guests will also have the opportunity to enter a raffle and auction throughout the evening.
