The nearest mainline station is Manchester Victoria which is over 3 miles away so walking is probably not an option from there!

The nearest Metrolink tram stop is Crumpsall Tram station but that is a good 30 minute walk away. You can catch this from Manchester Victoria or Piccadilly.
Recommended pubs for away fans?
The supporters bar at the ground is home fans only and there are no pubs within the immediate vicinity as the ground is in a mainly residential area.

Food available in the area?
Not a lot as the ground is situated in a residential area.
