Our award winning match day programme, The Mariner returns this evening for our rearranged fixture at home to Tranmere Rovers.

In this weekend’s edition, alongside an update from the manager and skipper, January recruit Stefan Payne is ‘In The Spotlight’ with our twenty questions. In addition to a number of our regular features, Pat Bell recalls the game that had everything as 27 years ago, The Mariners managed an unlikely victory against this evening’s guests in their own backyard. 

As always, we take a look at this evening’s visitors and once again, John ‘Kirky’ Kirk gives us his ‘six of the best’ from our previous encounters with Tranmere Rovers and in addition, we take a look at our common ‘connections’ with fan favourite, Ivano Bonetti. The midfield maestro played for both the Mariners and Tranmere Rovers in the mid 90’s. 

We also remember Bernard Fleming, a man who was steeped in Grimsby Town and in football generally in a variety of roles. Rest In Peace Bernard.
