Grimsby Town look to make it two Sky Bet League Two wins on the bounce as they travel to Sixfields Stadium to face Northampton Town on Saturday (3pm).
Michael Jolley’s side returned to winning ways in the league as Ahkeem Rose scored the only goal in the 1-0 victory over Crawley Town at Blundell Park last weekend.
And the Mariners will be hoping to secure just their second away league win of the season as they travel to 14th-place Northampton Town this weekend.
But the Cobblers have turned their form around since Keith Curle’s arrival as manager last month.
Curle’s men are unbeaten in four straight Sky Bet League Two games, including wins over Crewe Alexandra, Oldham Athletic, and Macclesfield Town.
Last five league results
Northampton Town: L, W, W, W, D
Grimsby Town: W, L, L, L, W
One to watch: Kevin van Veen
The ex-Scunthorpe United striker is the Cobblers’ top goalscorer this season, with seven goals in 19 appearances in all competitions.
But van Veen has bagged just once in his last 11 league games, and he’ll be hoping to find the back of the net against Town this weekend.
The 27-year-old, who previously scored 19 goals in 94 league games for Scunthorpe United, has also provided four assists for the Cobblers this season.
Last starting XI
The Cobblers picked up an impressive 2-2 away draw with Exeter City at St James Park last time out as they twice came from behind to earn a point.
They started with David Cornell in goal, and a back four of Hakeem Odoffin, Jordan Turnbull, Aaron Pierre, and captain David Buchanan.
John-Joe O’Toole, Sam Hoskins, Shaun McWilliams, and Daniel Powell made up the midfield, with Kevin van Veen and goalscorer Billy Waters up front.
Tickets are still available for Saturday’s trip to Sixfields Stadium as the Mariners face Northampton Town in Sky Bet League Two.
