Town Boss Is Grateful For Their Pre-Season Training Camp

Town boss Paul Hurst says that he appreciates the support from the club’s owners as his players headed for a pre-season training camp in Cheshire this week.

The Mariners will spend five days at the Mottram Hall complex, before making the short journey to face Hyde United on Friday night.

As well as a time to put the squad through its paces, the week is also valuable in terms of allowing the club’s 10 new arrivals to bond with the players already in place.

Speaking on GTTV, Hurst said: “It’s really good facilities here, a good pitch. Nice surroundings and there’s been some really good support from Jason and Andrew, to allow us to come here and break up the seven-week pre-season up a little bit.

“We are almost in the middle of it now, playing the games, obviously more games to come. This has been a tough week and it has just started to taper off slightly.

“We are trying to keep people fit, we’ve had a few niggles, but hopefully nothing too serious.

“It was nice to come here on the back of a good performance at the weekend, and play back in front of the fans. I’m really pleased with how our pre-season is going so far.

“I’ll carry on planning and look at one or two more editions. When they will happen, I am not too sure (maybe another one on Thursday), as we try to put a really competitive squad together.”
