Town Boss Nominated For Manager Of The Month Award

Town boss Michael Jolley has been nominated for the December Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month Award.

Proving himself a young manager to watch. On December 14th, the Mariners stood six points above the relegation zone. After winning at Exeter to make it 12 points from a possible 15 in the month, Town were six points off the play-offs. Town’s only blip in December came in the late penalty defeat at Cheltenham Town.

The other nominees for the award are:

Mark Cooper (Forest Green Rovers)
His side maintained their play-off place despite playing three of their four completed matches away from home. Collecting 10 points and scoring nine goals, they continue to show progress in their second season of EFL football.

David Flitcroft (Mansfield Town)
Maintained his side’s focus as well as their surge up the League Two table. The Stags collected 10 points from four unbeaten games in December, conceding just two goals in the process to move into the play-off positions.

Danny Cowley (Lincoln City)
Another month, another nomination for a manager whose team maintained its consistency of both performances and results with four wins from five games. Their ability to score early goals was key to wins over Stevenage, Morecambe and Newport.

The judging panel comprises former Ipswich Town manager George Burley, Sky Sports’ EFL League expert Don Goodman; EFL Marketing Director Drew Barrand, League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet EFL Trader Mikey Mumford.
