The Mariners will face Ebbsfleet United or Slough Town in the First Round of this season’s Emirates FA Cup following yesterday’s draw.

The match will take place across the first weekend of November and we will find out tomorrow night our opponents when the two sides’ Fourth Qualifying Round replay takes place. Saturday’s initial match between the two ended in a 2-2 draw when Ebbsfleet came from behind twice to draw thanks to two own goals from Slough goalkeeper Rohan Luthra after going behind on two occasions.

Whoever we play, we will be up against opponents from lower down the pyramid with Ebbsfleet currently in the National League while Slough find themselves one step below in the National League South.

The Mariners enter this year’s competition in the First Round and it will be our first match in the competition since last season’s Quarter Final against Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion, that match being our first at that stage of the competition since 1939.
