Grimsby travelled to Rotherham for the season opener in the North East Youth Alliance League on Saturday.
An open game which saw lots of attacking quality. Rotherham took the lead when a free kick looped over the goalkeeper early on, but in the 10th minute Town won a penalty which was dispatched by Tomlinson to make it 1-1.
Town had the ball in the net again shortly after but it was judged offside and Rotherham made it 2-1 before the break when a beat turn in the box saw a finish from close range.
Town came out the stronger side in the second half and had a few early half chances but it was 2-2 in the 60th minute when Bramwell’s header beat the keeper at the near post.
Town scored the winner and made it 3-2 when a fantastic solo run by Milner saw him pull it back for Dennis to smash home from close range.
Next up for Town is Burton Albion next Saturday at Bradley FDC.
