Our U18s side hosted Huddersfield Town in their final league game before the Merit League comes into play.
Town started the game well with some good free-flowing football, the visitors were doing so in the same vein but from deeper areas on the pitch.
Stratton went close for Town when he darted in at the near post, only to push his shot wide.
But Town were to take the lead when Adlard and Hodgson linked up well before Adlard was upended in the box.
Hodgson stepped up and dispatched the kick to give Town a 1-0 lead.
Town continued to apply the pressure but could add to their advantage.
The second half was more of the same with Town pressing high and winning the ball but lacking the cutting edge to capitalise on a dominant performance.
Huddersfield did have spells of possession but rarely threatened the Town backline.
It was great to see some of next year’s intake making their debuts and U15 player Lucas Wilden stepping up to the u18s.
Next Up: Town will face Huddersfield Town again, this time in the Youth Alliance Cup.
