Grimsby Town Football Club is recruiting a Match Day Chef to join our catering team at Blundell Park.

THE ROLE
Reporting to the Head Chef, the Match Day Chef will support the delivery of a high-quality catering service on match days, preparing and presenting food to an exceptional standard while ensuring all food safety and hygiene requirements are met.
This is a casual, matchday-only role, with shifts taking place on Saturdays, evenings and Bank Holidays.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
Contract: Casual, matchday only
Reports to: Head Chef
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:
- Prepare, cook and present food to the standards set by the Head Chef.
- Assist with food preparation before service.
- Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
- Follow all food safety, HACCP and Health & Safety procedures.
- Ensure food is correctly stored, labelled and rotated.
- Assist with stock rotation and minimise food waste.
- Maintain accurate temperature and cleaning records.
- Work efficiently during busy matchday services.
- Support kitchen opening and closing procedures.
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house colleagues.
- Ensure kitchen equipment is used safely and report any faults.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Essential:
- Experience working within a commercial kitchen.
- Experience preparing food for large numbers.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Knowledge of food allergens.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
Desirable:
- Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification.
- Hospitality or stadium catering experience.
- Experience working in fast-paced sporting or event environments.
