Grimsby Town forward Charles Vernam has joined National League side Chorley on a month’s loan.

The 23-year-old has scored three goals in 42 league games since making the permanent move to Blundell Park in summer 2018.

But the forward has made just one league start this season, and makes the move to Victory Park for a month as he looks to help turn the Magpies’ fortunes around in the National League.

Vernam, who scored two goals in the Emirates FA Cup for Town last season, is eligible to play in Chorley’s first round tie with Mansfield Town at Field Mill tomorrow.
