Walker signs for Town

Grimsby Town Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Jamie Walker on a two-year deal.

The 32-year-old forward makes the move to Blundell Park on a free transfer, following a three-year spell with Bradford City where he made 125 appearances and racked up 32 goal contributions.

Walker made his move to the Bantams permanent ahead of the 2022-23 campaign and helped the West Yorkshire club achieve League One status last season.

The Scottish forward graduated from the Heart of Midlothian Academy, where he signed his professional contract, before going on to make 240 first team appearances across two spells, scoring 54 goals and helping them to the Scottish Championship title on two occasions.

In between his two spells in Scotland, Walker joined Wigan Athletic in January 2018, before signing for Peterborough on loan for the first half of 2019-20.

Walker also made 18 appearances as a Scottish youth international across multiple age groups.

On adding Jamie to his attacking options for the 2025-26 campaign, Head Coach David Artell said, “Jamie’s an experienced player and someone who’s played at big clubs and can perform on big occasions.

“He’s a great character, I’m really looking forward to working with him and I’m hoping he can have a fruitful season on the pitch and a really big influence off it as well.”

On making the move to Town, Walker added, “I’m delighted to be here. I’m looking forward to getting on the training pitch and showing everyone what I can do.

“I know what the league brings and what you need to be successful at this level, so hopefully I can bring that in abundance and help the team on the pitch.”

Welcome to the Mariners, Jamie!
