Aaron Braithwaite

A tenacious midfielder with an eye for a pass, local lad Braithwaite is from Grimsby and has been an ever-present in the Youth Team and Reserve team this season. Aaron has made the first-team squad this season also in the FA Trophy game away at Stockport. Many Mariners fans were treated to their first sight of Aaron during the 2021/22 pre-season campaign, where he started against Cleethorpes Town, putting in an energetic and impressive performance.

Edwin Essel

Edwin joined the club as a 10-year-old and attended Tollbar Academy. Edwin is a pacy centre forward and has caught the eye of many after scoring 25 goals so far over his scholarship programme. During his time as a Scholar, Essel has also featured regularly for the Mariners’ Reserve team. Edwin made his first-team debut at Torquay this season in a 3-1 victory and has gone on to make three first-team appearances so far this campaign, including a substitute appearance against Bromsgrove Sporting in the Emirates FA Cup.

Harvey Tomlinson

Harvey is an attacking midfielder, living in Laceby and attended Healing School. Harvey joined the club at Under 13 from Scunthorpe United and has regularly played in teams for the higher age groups. Harvey has featured regularly for the club’s reserve team over the past two seasons and was included in the first-team squad last season. Harvey has made large contributions to the Youth team over the last three seasons, coming into his own this season, weighing in with an impressive 15 goals and 16 assists so far.
