Weymouth Travel Guide

Making the mammoth journey to Weymouth this weekend? Kristine Green has provided the following guide to help make your trip run as smooth as possible!

What colour kit will the team be wearing?

Black and White kit for this game

What’s the ticket information?

Tickets can be purchased online via: https://uptheterras.co.uk/tickets/

What stand are we in?

Seats are in the Main Stand – entry is via turnstile 6, just past the ticket office.

The ‘Windowman’ terrace is covered – entry via turnstile 9 or 10, on the hill as you enter the car park.

What time will turnstiles open?

Turnstiles will be open by 1.30pm

How do I get to the ground?

Post Code is DT4 9XJ

Turn off the A35 onto the A354 towards Weymouth.  Continue to follow the A354 Town Centre signs. After three roundabouts you’ll see signs for ‘Wessex Stadium’ – follow these, they’ve not been updated with the change of name to Bob Lucas Stadium. As you continue to follow the signs the stadium will be in front of you. At the next roundabout take the 3rd exit into the stadium car park.

Where is the best place to park?

There is plenty of on-street parking and some parking at the ground for a small charge.

What is the nearest train station to the stadium and what is the approximate distance and walking time?

The nearest train station is Weymouth – this is 2 miles away from the stadium and it’s not advisable to walk unless you fancy a hike!

There is a taxi rank at the station and outside The Swan (Wetherspoons)

Recommended pubs for away fans?

Not a lot around the ground, as segregation is in place the bars at the stadium are home fans only – the best place to head to is the Town Centre/harbourside but this is a couple of miles away from the ground.

The Swan and the William Henry are a couple of Wetherspoons. You’ve also got The Globe and Royal Oak among other smaller places.

Food available in the area?

Again not a huge amount around the ground but plenty in the town centre which is a good 45-minute walk away.

Where is the nearest cash machine to the Stadium?

The nearest cash machine is around half a mile/15 minute walk away at The Co-operative on Chickerell Road, DT4 9TP

What food and drink is available at the stadium?

There is a bar and burger van in the away end. We don’t have information on card usage so prepare to have cash just in case.

Is a programme available?

A small number of printed programmes will be available.

What is the flag policy?

Please follow stewards’ instructions on placement.
