‘Beyond The Pitch’ Mental Health Workshops

Former Mariner Nathan Arnold continues to collaborate with the Grimsby Town Foundation on an initiative called ‘Beyond the Pitch’ as part of the Club’s on-going project to promote services to improve the mental wellbeing of people in our community.

Arnold, of course, is known for scoring the goal that sealed the Mariners promoting back to the EFL in 2016, but since his retirement four years ago, the former winger has become a life-coach, therapist, mentor and motivational speaker and now, through the ‘Beyond the Pitch’ initiative, he’s helping Mariners supporters overcome their challenges and improve their all-round wellbeing.

In addition to Arnold’s presence on matchdays, the Beyond the Pitch initiative involves group workshops and one-to-one support.

Grimsby Town Foundation Director Mike Thompson has been impressed with the initiative since its launch.

“We have seen a number of individuals from our community really benefit from the workshops and we know there is appetite to develop this offering further in the new year. Nathan’s story and passion for the project is clear to see and we know we can engage more individuals to really step out of their comfort zone and be supported by this initiative.”
