Our Youth team got their first three points of the new campaign with a 2-0 victory at Doncaster Rovers over the weekend.
It was an equal first half with very limited chances for either side. However, it was Town who opened the scoring on 45 minutes when Goundry poked home Tomlinson’s free kick.
The second saw a more dominant display from Town with more possession and creating more chances. But Doncaster had their moments and Town keeper Jacob’s had to be alive to keep them at bay on more than one occasion.
But the Mariners doubled their lead when Essel burst clear, rounded the keeper, before slotting home to give Town a deserved win.
Town: Jacobs, Markham, Zerboni, Bramwell, Sims, Goundry, Milner, Hodgson, Essel, Thorpe, Tomlinson.
Subs: Wilkinson, Dennis-D, Dennis-B, Stratton, Scott
Town’s young guns are next in action on Saturday when they face Lincoln City in the Youth Alliance Cup.
