We are proud to say that representatives from Town and Grimsby Town Sports & Education Trust (GTSET) will be taking part in The Great Grimsby Sleep Out tonight!
The sleep out is to raise money for Harbour Place, a local charity committed to reducing and ultimately ending rough sleeping on the streets of our community. They also aim to support those without a permanent home to find and sustain one.
Hosted and supported by Freshney Place Shopping Centre, the Sleep Out will be using the West Multi-Storey Car Park for the sleeping areas to make the night as authentic as possible.
Participants will be building their shelter from cardboard and the Mariners’ CEO Debbie Cook will be joined by our Customer Service Assistant Francine Orr and GTSET’s CEO Jo Schofield.
On participating in the fundraiser, Francine said: “I’ve never done anything like this before and I hate the cold but I’m always up for a challenge. It’s for a great cause and if we can help one person then we’re happy.
“I’m proud to be part of representing the Club in the fundraiser. Hopefully, we can raise some money!”
This year, the event is hoping to raise £10,000 for Harbour Place to help transform the lives of many people in our community. You can support the initiative by donating to the JustGiving page HERE.
