Jayden Luker has become Town’s tenth signing of the summer after joining on a season-long loan from Championship side Luton Town.
The midfielder joined Luton Town after impressing on trial in Summer 2022. He was an unused substitute on four occasions for the Hatters’ first team last season in the Premier League, as well as an FA Cup meeting with Wigan Athletic in the previous campaign.
The 19-year-old joined National League side Woking on loan back in January, impressing in his sixth-month spell for the Cards, making 17 appearances and scoring twice.
David Artell expressed his delight in adding Luker to his squad, saying, “He’s a terrific player. He can play as a wide forward or as an eight, he finds the pockets of space and he’s bright, so we’ve got to make sure we get him the ball so he can create and score.”
“We spoke to the manager at Woking quite a few times so we know how good he is.”
On joining the Mariners, Jayden said, “I feel really excited and happy. It’s the next chapter in my career and I can’t wait to get started.”
“I would say I’m a technical player. I like to drive at players, beat a man, create chances and hopefully score a lot of goals.”
Welcome to the Mariners, Jayden!
