Géza arrives at BP!

The Mariners are delighted to be able to announce the signing of Géza Dávid Turi from Faroese club Víkingur.

The 23-year-old moves to Blundell Park on a deal until summer 2027 for an undisclosed fee, subject to the relevant clearance.

Turi is a deep-lying, technical player who’s made almost 150 appearances for Víkingur during his five-year tenure, including games in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers earlier this season.

The midfielder was a key part of the Vikingur side who won the Faroese first division title in 2024.

After capturing the signature of his long-term transfer target, Head Coach David Artell said, “We’re delighted to welcome Géza to the Club after tracking him for some time. His composure and technical ability in possession, particularly under pressure have impressed us. He’s very comfortable receiving the ball in tight situations, remaining calm and confident. He’s amassed a good number of appearances for his age which will help enhance the squad.”

Our new signing, Géza Dávid Turi, added, “I’m really happy to finally get the deal over the line. I’m looking forward to wearing the black and white shirt and meeting the fans.”

The Faroese star, who was in Grimsby earlier to sign for the Club, won’t be available for selection for our trip to Bromley tomorrow due to the player awaiting his official clearance.

Hear from our new man in an exclusive interview on Mariners TV soon.

Vælkomin til Grimsby, Géza!
