Grimsby Town Foundation’s Heritage Project Exhibition

We’re delighted to confirm details of Grimsby Town Foundations Heritage Project’s exhibition – taking place in the Lower Bar, fans will have chance to walk through facts, stats, photos and other items of memorabilia from the Clubs creation in 1878, right through to the present day.

On display for the first time will be Fred Crack’s 1939 FA Cup semi-final shirt and shorts that was recently obtained at auction by the heritage project and a shirt believed to have been worn by Bobby Mitchell during the 1980/81 season. We’ll also have medals from different promotions including 1933/34 and 1997/98.

Two TV’s will have highlights from various games, including both FA Cup’s semi-finals from 1936 and 139.

There will also be a chance to create your own ‘All Time XI’ using Top Trumps style cards made up of some of the players receiving votes during our recent team request.

Heritage Project Manager Kristine Green said: ‘It’s incredibly difficult to narrow down specifics when there is 147 years of history to cover, which was evident in the vast array of ‘All time XI’ teams submitted. We’ve been incredibly lucky to have a number of volunteers who have helped with that. We hope that the those visiting learn something new but also have plenty of talking points to take away”

Opening hours for the exhibition are as follows:

Monday 7th April – 12pm to 4pm

Tuesday 8th April – 10am to 4pm

Wednesday 9th April – 10am to 8pm

Thursday 10th April – 10am to 8pm
