YOUNG MARINERS EARN THREE POINTS IN CUMBRIA

A deflected Corey Foster free-kick and a strike from Henry Booth earned our Young Mariners three points on the road at Carlisle.

Town put in a strong performance on the road against the Cumbrians and created plenty of clear-cut chances, with Carlo Midwinter especially, making the hosts’ keeper pull of some excellent saves.

Auton was equal to his opponent at the other end and looked assured in between the sticks, commanding his area well and being in the right place to make a save when called into action.

Town took the lead when a free-kick from Corey Foster was deflected past the Blues’ keeper to give the visitors the advantage.

Auton made an excellent save to keep the Mariners ahead and substitute Booth sealed the victory when he stole the ball, outpaced his opponent and fired home to give Neil Woods’ side a 2-0 win.

Town: Auton, Carrick, Peterson (Booth, 68′), Onoh, Elliott, Graham, Smith, Jalloh, Giles, Foster, Midwinter
