Former Town defender, Shaun Pearson made 207 appearances for the Mariners, playing a key role in both National League Play-Off Final victories, in 2016 and 2021.
Pearson played in Grimsby’s 3–1 victory over Forest Green Rovers in the 2016 National League play-off final at Wembley, seeing Town promoted to Sky Bet League Two after a six-year absence from the Football League.
During his playing career, Pearson appeared for a number of teams including Spalding United, Wrexham and Boston United, playing over 450 times.
Pearson transitioned into a Men’s First Team coaching role after retiring back at the end of the 2022-23 season, and has remained in post ever since, now playing a vital role in David Artell’s coaching team.
