A former goalkeeper for the Mariners, Steve Croudson came through as a product of the Academy and was handed his professional debut for the club by Alan Buckley in 1999, in a game against Wolverhampton Wanderers, in which Steve kept a clean sheet and won man of the match in an impressive first performance.
Following a number of spells at other local sides including Scunthorpe United and Boston United, Croudson suffered with injury issues and despite a few rare appearances as a Mariner in later seasons, Steve was forced to retire aged 26.
Steve has over a decade of coaching experience, working with a number of clubs in the area including Hull City, Lincoln City and the Mariners. Steve rejoined Town’s first team coaching staff in 2022 after eight years away from the club, after departing Lincoln City.
Steve is a highly regarded goalkeeper coach and with years of experience plays a vital role within the first team environment at Grimsby Town.
