Unite For Access: Celebrating Inclusion At Blundell Park

This Saturday at Blundell Park, the Mariners will proudly mark their dedicated matchday for the Level Playing Field ‘Unite For Access’ campaign as we host Bromley.

Running from February 28th to March 15th, Unite For Access is an annual celebration of good access and inclusion at sports venues across the country. Led by Level Playing Field, the campaign brings together fans, Disabled Supporters’ Associations, clubs and governing bodies to highlight the importance of creating welcoming, inclusive matchday experiences for everyone.

The campaign continues to grow each year, with 2025 proving record-breaking in terms of engagement from Premier League and EFL clubs. An inaugural cricket campaign was also launched, alongside a new summer window for celebrations, further underlining the momentum behind improving accessibility across sport.

At Blundell Park, supporters will see a number of activations to mark the occasion.

Players from both teams will wear Unite For Access t-shirts during the warm-up, showing visible support for the campaign ahead of kick-off. A disabled supporter will have the honour of leading the team out, a powerful symbol of representation at the heart of our matchday.

Flag bearers will all be disabled supporters, with wheelchair users positioned at the sides of the pitch and ambulant supporters forming a guard of honour on the playing surface. It promises to be a special and meaningful pre-match moment.

Grimsby Town Ability Counts FC will also be invited to attend and parade around the pitch, celebrating the fantastic work being done within the club’s disability football pathway and showcasing the opportunities available for players of all abilities to be part of the game.

Unite For Access is about more than one fixture. It is about raising awareness, strengthening relationships and continuing to improve accessibility for disabled supporters; whether through facilities, communication, representation or engagement.

Football is strongest when it is inclusive.

This Saturday at Blundell Park, we Unite for Access.
