Young Mariners to Celebrate Title Success with Half-Time Lap of Honour

Supporters at Blundell Park this weekend will have the opportunity to celebrate a special achievement, as our Youth Team complete a lap of honour at half-time of Saturday’s fixture against Swindon Town.

The young Mariners will also be presented with the North East Youth Alliance League trophy by the English Football League, marking a remarkable campaign for the Club’s next generation.

It has been a season to remember for the Youth Team, one defined not just by results, but by resilience, maturity, and a clear identity that has shone through from the first whistle to the last.

Having already secured the league title, Town have continued to demonstrate their quality, most recently with a composed 2-0 victory over Doncaster Rovers at Cheapside. A confident, controlled performance saw Charlie Elliott open the scoring from the penalty spot before Elliot Smith added a superb second from distance to seal another dominant display.

Throughout the campaign, the group have combined attacking intent with composure and discipline, consistently finding ways to control games and deliver results. Key contributions have come from across the squad, with Elliott’s eye for goal, Smith’s influence in midfield, Sharp’s energy, Catchpole’s creativity, and Rogers’ presence in goal all playing vital roles.

Beyond the individual moments, it is the collective growth of the group that has stood out. The players have shown an impressive ability to adapt, respond to challenges, and manage games in different ways – hallmarks of a side developing both on and off the pitch.

As they take to the Blundell Park pitch at half-time, supporters will have the chance to recognise a group that has represented the Club with pride and distinction.

Champions, role models, and a glimpse into the future – this is a team that has earned its moment.
