As the Mariners prepare for their final home league game of the season tomorrow, Head Coach David Artell has delivered a rallying message to supporters ahead of what promises to be a defining afternoon at Blundell Park.
With a place in the Sky Bet League Two play-offs within reach, Artell has called on the Town faithful to play their part as the team look to finish the job on home soil.
Here’s the full message from the Head Coach…
“Days like tomorrow are what the season builds towards. After all the work, the ups and downs, and the challenges we’ve faced together, we arrive at a moment with everything to play for.
A win tomorrow afternoon would see us secure a place in the play-offs, and that opportunity is something we’ve earned through consistency, resilience, and the character this group has shown over a long period of time.
Before anything else, I want to take a moment to thank our supporters, particularly those who travelled to Gillingham and Cambridge over the last few days. Your support was nothing short of unbelievable.
To follow the team in those numbers, with that level of energy and commitment, makes a huge difference to the players. It doesn’t go unnoticed, and it’s something we’re incredibly grateful for.
This is a group that has stuck together. Through difficult moments, through pressure, and through expectation, they’ve continued to work, improve, and believe.
Now we have the chance to finish the job at home, in front of our own supporters, and that’s something we’re determined to embrace.
Swindon will provide a tough test. They’re a side with quality and organisation, and we know we’ll have to be at our very best; disciplined, aggressive, and brave, to get the result we need.
But this is why you work all season, for opportunities like this.
Blundell Park has a huge part to play tomorrow. The atmosphere you create can lift the players, drive us on in key moments, and give us that extra edge when it matters most.
We’ll need you with us from the first whistle to the last.
Let’s give everything, together.”
