Grimsby Town striker Harry Cardwell hopes โthe good times can continueโ at Blundell Park, after extending his contract until summer 2020.
The 22-year-old, who has scored one Sky Bet League Two goal for the Mariners since joining in 2017, extended his current deal until the end of the 2019-20 season yesterday.
And Cardwell hopes to make more good memories during his next 18 months at the club.
Speaking exclusively on iFollow Mariners, he said: โIโm delighted. Iโm really happy to get it sorted, and finalise the deal, and Iโm really happy to be here.
โIโm really enjoying my time here โ especially with the lads weโve got at the minute, and the gaffer.
โThereโs a great feel around the place โ the lads are all in high spirits, and weโre really looking forward to the weekend.
โItโs been a good couple of weeks for the lads โ four wins out of the last five, thereโs a really good buzz around the place, and thereโs a lot of positive energy.
โAnd hopefully the good times can continue here, and we can continue to get up the table and keep picking up points.โ
And Cardwell sees no reason why Town canโt cause a historic upset as they face Premier League side Crystal Palace in the Emirates FA Cup third round at Selhurst Park on Saturday (5.30pm).
He said: โItโs a good experience for some of the lads who have never played at a Premier League club, or anything like that, and weโre really looking forward to it.
โIโm really looking forward to it. Itโs one of those occasions and games that you look forward to in your career where youโre classed as the underdog, but thereโs no pressure going into the game.
โAnd who knows โ why canโt we cause an upset? Weโve got the players here, and the squad, and the feeling around the place is good.
โSo we can go into it with a lot of confidence and, after the successful festive period that weโve had, why not?โ
The Mariners will be backed by more than 5,500 travelling Town fans from the black and white army in the Arthur Wait Stand on Saturday!
